All triallists to be of NZ Maori descent and are to choose one grade only.

Triallists for age groups must be Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 or Under 19 as at 1^st January 2015.

No Netball Programme in the school Holidays

We will not be holding the years 0-2 programme in the school holidays for Wednesday 9 July and 16 July.  We will start again Wednesday 23rd July.
Junior Netball will not be held Thursday 10 and 17 July. It will start again Thursday 24 July.
Senior Netball will not be held Saturday 12 and 19 July.  It will start again Saturday 26 July.

WHAT: Umpiring theory class.

You will learn the full International Federation of Netball Association (IFNA) Netball rules and sit your Centre “Theory” badge.

WHEN: Sunday 22nd  June 9:30am – 3:00pm

WHERE: HBC Netball Centre, Edith Hopper, Stanmore Bay.

WHO: Anyone interested in umpiring as an umpire or umpiring to improve your own netball skills, or to improve your coaching.

BRING: Pen & paper, morning tea and lunch.

TIME: Full day 9:30am – 3:00pm.

TUTOR: Selena Grimshaw

COST: $35.00 each, pay on the day, no invoices will be sent. Includes Rule book, whistle, fee to sit theory exam.

WHAT: Two specialist netball sessions – 

- a morning session for U15 and U17 players (where you will learn player and teamwork approaches to the game) (Strictly limited to 15) cost $50 9.00am -11.00am for U15 and U17 HBC Academy players

- an afternoon session for Senior Coaches (where you will learn some of the key aspects of successful coaching from one of New Zealand’s top Netball coaches). (Strictly limited to 25) cost $50 (Coaches you are also welcome to watch the morning session ). 12.00pm -2.00pm for Senior Coaches.

WHERE: HBC Netball Centre, Edith Hopper Park, Manly. 

 BRING: - 9.00am -11.00am, netball players bring - playing gear and shoes, pen & paper, drink bottle and snack foods.

2014 HBC Year 8 and 9 Coaches

Expressions of interest are being saught for 2014 Representative Coaches for Year 8 and Year 9.  Applicants should preferably have attended a Netball New Zealand Level 1 Coaching course or have experience to that level.  Coaches are required to hold regular training sessions and attend all tournaments selected by the Executive Committee; (which traditionally represents 6 tournaments).  If requested by the Executive Committee you will be required to provide a programme for the “Season”.

Compulsory team umpires meeting on 6th May 6:30 to 8:00pm

HBC Development Academy 2014

This year we are running the “New World” Hibiscus Coast Netball Centre Development Academy. As this is the first year, it will only be offered firstly to our 2013 representative players.

The cost is $60 for this 6-week programme (Tuesdays 7-8.30pm). The program includes guest speakers from (High Performance Development Netball Northern Zone, ANZ Umpires and Strength and Conditioning coaches), weekly small group Personal Trainer sessions and a structured programme of technical, umpiring and psychological skills for netball. If you are interested in this opportunity (and you are currently registered in the 2014 season at HBC), please fill out an application form online.

Applications close Wednesday 2nd April.
First academy training starts Tuesday 8th  April and successful applicants will be notified by the website on Friday 4th April.

In the following years we intend to offer it to a wider range of Hibiscus Coast Netballers. Please let us know what you think and whether you would be interested in being involved in a ‘pre-season’, ‘mid-season’, or ‘post-season’ initiative.

Cost: S5.00 per Child to be paid on the day

Jan Skilton in the Middle.

Congratulations to Jan Skilton, who was honoured with a Netball NZ Service Award last weekend in Hamilton at the Annual Netball New Zealand AGM. 

Jan is a local netball celebrity who  has mentored and supported many local netball umpires here at the HBC netball Centre.

As the Netball Northern Zone umpire coordinator, Jan continues to promote Netball Umpiring as a pathway for people who love netball.

Well done Jan and congratulations from all the Hibiscus Coast Netball community.

We are providing a Theory and Practical Umpiring Course pre -season for 2014.

Theory cost $35 and runs from 9am to 3pm
Practical cost $10 and runs from 3pm to 5pm.
